Amazon's Legal Department is looking for an experienced products compliance attorney to be based in Seattle to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more. We are looking for a talented attorney to support Amazon's world wide data centers that power our rapidly growing and evolving cloud computing business. You will be part of a team responsible for counseling Amazon's data center business on a broad range of health and safety, environmental, trade, and products regulatory and compliance matters. You will work directly with various AWS business functions - including the AWS supply chain, procurement, engineering and product functions - to support the global procurement, manufacture, transportation and distribution of AWS data
· 3+ years of experience providing legal counsel and support for product compliance or similar regulatory matters · A J.D. degree (or equivalent) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar· Experience with technology-related product regulatory compliance · Experience with environmental and technical regulations attaching to the manufacture, sale, distribution, use and disposition of products including consumer devices, including EU regulatory requirements such as the EMC, RoHS, and WEEE Directives · A combination of law firm and in-house experience · Ability to work both independently
