Amazon Marketplace enables over 2MM sellers and small businesses across the world to list their products for sale to Amazon customers. The Marketplace team is seeking an Applied Scientist to use statistical and machine learning techniques to design, evangelize, and implement state-of-the-art solutions for never-before-solved problems, helping Marketplace Sellers offer customers great prices and optimizing fees to grow the business. This role will be a key member of an Advanced Analytics team supporting fee related business challenges within Marketplace and will be based in Seattle, WA. The Applied Scientist will work closely with other research scientists, machine learning experts, and economists to design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways to understand fee optimization and improve customer experience. MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, including: · Extensive knowledge and practical experience in machine learning, statistics, and deep learning. · Demonstrated ability to implement different techniques in predictive analytics, forecasting, and measurement. · Experience with experimental design. · Expertise in analyzing both experimental and observational data sets. · Skilled with Java, C++, or other programming language. · Skilled with R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting
