The Team: We are looking for experienced Software Development Managers to join the team responsible for physical retail store technology at our innovative Amazon Go (www.amazon.com/go) physical stores and Amazon Books physical stores (www.amazon.com/amazonbooks). The Role: You will lead the technology team that is behind the invisible checkout at Amazon Go Stores, the physical retail payments platform behind the point of sale systems in Amazon Books stores. On our team, we are entrepreneurial, wear many hats, and work in a highly collaborative environment that feels more startup than big company. As a Software Development Manager, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor a team of talented engineers. Your team will invent, design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and distributed new features. You'll work with a various core languages and technologies including Java, C++, Linux, PostGre, and AWS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 6+ years' experience. • 3+ years leading a software development team through product/platform releases. • 5+ years of experience with OO design and common design patterns. • Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis. The ability to produce rock-solid code that is fault-tolerant, efficient and maintainable. • Experience crafting and building large-scale systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment (Service Oriented Architecture). • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project planning/execution
