Our service operates at Amazon-scale, running in 250 territories worldwide. The Playback Services team builds the systems that power video delivery for all of Prime Video. When customers click play every player request flows through our systems. We own the customer-facing APIs that enable core playback, video bookmarking, geo-location, account sharing prevention, content encryption/licensing, and policy enforcement. As a Software Development Engineer on the Playback Services team you will: · Design and implement distributed systems for massive live events such as Thursday Night Football and English Premier League · Use cloud technologies including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, and CloudFront
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline · Experience in building scalable systems based on web services· Experience with distributed computing · Experience or interest in Cloud Computing and other emerging technologies · Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy · Experience influencing
