Elastic Block Store (EBS) delivers high performance virtualized storage as part of Amazon Web Services. As one of the largest block storage services in the world EBS is looking for passionate engineers to design and build fault tolerant and high performance storage systems. At EBS, this engineer will be part of the team that architects, designs, and implements highly scalable distributed multi-tenant block storage systems that provide service level agreement (SLA) guarantees to customers. We’re looking for innovative engineers to own the performance, availability, scalability, and durability of EBS volumes. In this role, the engineer will build framework to simulate distributed systems at scale and make software changes in IO path for improving performance. The ideal candidate would possess design and problem solving skills and experience in building and operating large scale systems. · 4+ years of professional software development experience · 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design · 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ years relevant work experience · · Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving · · Proficiency in developing objected-oriented software, with deep experience
