Enabling Amazon’s explosive growth requires top talent in our Finance Technology (FinTech) organization. FinTech is seeking a Software Development Engineer to be a part of the Horizon team. Horizon is the Finance big data platform built for scalable compute and storage. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to innovate the next generation big data platform to meet tomorrow’s processing needs. You will work on platform architecture, implement horizontally scalable data processing algorithms, and come up with innovative ideas to benefit the customers. You will work in a fast paced environment with some of the brightest engineers to innovate on behalf of the customer. You should be somebody that is passionate about solving customers’ problems and gets excited about owning infrastructure services that serve critical finance systems. You will guide the team on software development best practices and set examples by using them in the solutions you build.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of experience · Distributed system design and development experience with demonstrable scale. · Experience in successfully leading the building of complex software systems · Proven object oriented design skills and developed creative scalable solutions to difficult problems · Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, internet security fundamentals and designing for performance, scalability and availability · Proficiency in, at least one, modern programming language such as Scala, Java, Python · Experience in supporting
