Surface is hiring a service engineer. This role involves maintaining antenna and RF laboratories and working closely with antenna design engineers.
The candidate should have formal technician training and 5+ years of RF or antenna laboratory management experience. The candidate should be familiar with RF product development practices, should be familiar with multiple antenna fabrication technologies, and be proficient in operating laboratory equipment used to fabricate antennas. Must be able to use antenna chambers (e.g. Satimo, Bluetest) for passive and active testing (TRP\TIS), and be able to perform regular maintenance calibration checks with the chamber using calibration reference antennas (e.g. horns, dipoles).
The following skills are required: Perform active and passive chamber measurements on antenna implementations from multiple design engineers. Ability to perform antenna cabling and matching component changes. Operate LPKF mechanical milling machine to make antenna prototype PCBs. Operate LPKF laser milling machine to fabricate prototype FPC antennas. Operate PCB plating equipment to fabricate RF\antenna boards with through-hole vias.
