The Core Services Engineering group is leading the company's Digital Transformation journey. We work across the entire company – building scalable, end-to-end cloud services for our future business needs. Within CSE, Network Infrastructure Services (NIS) is the team that designs, deploys and manages the internal Microsoft network infrastructure. Our network infrastructure is comprised of a large fiber optic cabling footprint and we are looking to deliver the next version of this model, while maintaining high reliability of our current service. In this role you will define the best practices, processes and procedures, and help the team deliver the future state for connectivity.
Core responsibilities: • Develop and implement high security designs for physical network plant and logical transport networks • Gather requirements and deliver VRF, MPLS, and other virtual topology designs, in partnership with the engineering teams • Provide thought leadership related to current fiber standards, future products, and best practices for fiber installations • Own fiber connectivity incident management, problem management, service quality, and change control • Perform fusion or mechanical splice SM or MM fiber optics cables terminating on various fiber optics connectors, fiber cleaning,
