Alexa is the Amazon cloud service that powers Echo, the groundbreaking new Amazon device designed around your voice. Customers love what Alexa can already do. They are even more excited about her future potential. This role will own user research for understanding how customers use Alexa today and how their interactions with her may become more personal in the future. The ideal candidate will thrive on the challenge of informing intuitive customer experiences while balancing complex and competing priorities. In this role you will work closely with design, product management, and engineering for the Alexa Identity team as well as with partner teams across Alexa. As a Sr. UX Researcher, you will define and execute on a comprehensive user research roadmap spanning a broad set of experiences. Research activities will include generative work (study design, field work, analysis), and evaluative work (usability studies and concept evaluation). Solid knowledge of all phases of the product and design

· M.S. in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Centered Design, or similar. · 5+ years of experience conducting user research in a growing software development setting, or equivalent. · End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research life-cycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating, budgeting research) · Portfolio demonstrating deliverables across a range of qualitative and quantitative methods (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)· PhD in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Centered
