Amazon’s Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team is looking for supply chain optimization analysts with experience in using large datasets, mathematics, and simulation/modeling tools to solve real world problems. These individuals will discover and solve real world problems by analyzing large amounts of business data, defining new metrics and business cases, designing simulations and experiments, creating models, and collaborating with colleagues in business, software, and research. Successful candidates will have a strong quantitative background and can thrive in an environment that is the confluence of business analysis, operations research, statistics, machine learning, and econometrics. They should excel at diving into data to analyze root causes and create robust and effective solutions. SCOT owns Amazon’s global supply chain systems: we decide what, when, where, and how much inventory we need to make our customers happy and achieve strategic goals for Amazon and our partners
· BA/BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or related quantitative field · 5+ years of professional experience in quantitative analysis and problem solving · Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making · Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) · Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, for both business and technical audiences· Graduate degree (MS or equivalent) in Engineering,
