Microsoft Studios is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience with unit testing and driving for better code quality to work with our 1st party studios by supporting them in their goals of delivering games as a service. You will be working directly with developers at each studio to evangelize the benefits of solid unit test practices and the impact that test driven development can have on the quality of our games and the speed in which we can deliver updates. You will have a direct impact on the next generation of great games and experiences on our platforms.
You will be a member of the tools and automation team that works across studios to build automation and tester efficiency tools. You will work with individual developers and dev leads on unit test strategy, prototype unit test solutions for complex game systems and help teams identify code coverage targets. The role is focused on advocacy and training to enable our 1 st party studios to deliver the highest quality code and allow for quicker turnaround time on updates.
BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience 5+ years of experience with C/C++ or C# SOLID principles and design patterns Extensive experience with unit testing frameworks Experience with TDD Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong initiative, willingness to learn quickly and become a domain expert Experience with agile or scrum development practices A passion for mentoring other engineers Optionally, the candidate will have: Passion for the entertainment and gaming space Experience with test automation Experience with C++ testing/mocking frameworks: Google
