The Cognition Device Platform team is accountable for the APIs that power Mixed Reality. This includes the libraries and system services which enable our amazing devices and sensors to light up apps on HoloLens and other Windows Mixed Reality devices. We've got a lot of interesting work ahead as we bring up APIs for new generations of HoloLens, participate in the OpenXR working group, and integrate the Windows Mixed Reality platform with services from Azure. What you'll do: Design and implement powerful, efficient, and intuitive APIs for C++ developers to create MR applications Enable apps to perceive and understand objects, space, and surfaces in the world around them Abstract MR platform functionality across different device form factors and OS SKUs Participate in the definition and implementation of the OpenXR API specification for cross-platform APIs for VR and AR Improve and maintain the codebase that powers holograms on HoloLens and Windows Mixed Reality devices Integrate core device functionality with Azure services and their cross-platform
Required Qualifications: 5+ years C/C++ programing experience BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience (5+ years) Highly Preferred Experience: System engineering experience including Windows and Android Experience with device drivers Experience with game engines and 3D geometry Experience leading an engineering team, or interest in leadership roles
