Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and the processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move billions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want when promised. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well. Within AFT, Capacity Optimization Planning and Analysis (COPA) is a group that builds and maintains real-time systems for modeling and managing the capacity and constraints within Amazon Fulfillment Centers. COPA systems are responsible for prioritizing how work within fulfillment centers gets processed, as well as modeling and surfacing real-time capacity for every fulfillment center world wide, thus driving on-time package delivery as well as continuous improvement and cost-optimization. We accomplish this
· 3+ years of work experience in technical leadership, program management or similar roles. · 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field · Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications · Excellent program management, problem solving and communication skills; experience in interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. · Strong software development background with experience in software development
