Amazon is working on several initiatives in physical retail including Amazon Go, Amazon Books and Whole Foods Market. This role will work to develop network infrastructure products that will support these initiatives. As a Network Engineer working at Amazon you will: · Have end to end ownership (architecture/design/scale) of a developing network · Be responsible for the operation of this network fabric and the optical network · Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers · Create simple processes that help operate and build our network · Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands · Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to in life operations · Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network adheres to these standards · Review and implement changes on the network · Work closely with our software teams to assist in defining the tools we
· Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience · 8+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments. · Experience designing network and data-center installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols. · Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills. · In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF · Knowledge and experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos. · Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment · Experience in automation via Bash/shell
