External job description Amazon has been successful building a large and fast growing private brand business across product categories and across geographies. The Global Product Safety and Compliance (GPSC) team has helped Amazon deliver hundreds of thousands of items each day, obsessing over safety and compliance so that our customers, vendors, sellers and internal businesses can reliably send and receive a broad range of products. Our GPSC Private Brands team is looking for a smart, strategic, knowledgeable and hard-working candidate to lead the team and support all (non-food) private brand businesses. You will enable new business opportunities by defining the Private Brand product safety and compliance program and by developing and leading the organization to execute this program. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in product safety and regulatory compliance, interacting with senior leaders, influencing cross-functional organizations within a company, is an exceptionally strong
Basic Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree · 10 years of experience in the product safety and regulatory compliance field, preferably from working for consultants, manufacturers or retailers. · Knowledge of regulatory compliance for electronics or apparel products . Experience in interacting with regulators (e.g. CPSC, Health Canada, FDA) . Ability to think strategically and tactically; excellent attention to detail . Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results . Exceptional communication, analytical and problem solving skills . Ability to work with technical and non-technical business
