Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Role: Manage the team responsible for defining and modeling of Project Kuiper’s wireless communication systems from customer end points to terrestrial gateways via Low Earth Orbit satellites. This is a unique opportunity to define a groundbreaking, high-throughput wireless solution with few legacy constraints. The team works with customer requirements and wireless implementation teams to define the (i) throughput / availability of network resources, (ii) assignment of resources to each customer area, (iii) coordination of spectrum with regulatory organizations and other users of the spectrum, (iv) optimization of link budgets and system trade-offs, and (v) top level architectural documents for wireless system used by implementation groups. In this role you
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience · 10+ years of experience in wireless systems design and / or RF design implementation · Experience in wireless system architecture and design, system integration, RF system analysis · Experience with current and upcoming RF standards in cellular (4G/5G), WiMAX, 802.11ad, microwave backhaul, DVB-S2 / DVB-C, OR similar broadband wireless standards · Management experience of small teams with hands on wireless systems architecture work · Master’s / PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Communications Systems
