Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Role: This is an electrical engineering position focusing on modelling, design and testing of solar cell technology for the project Kuiper satellite program. You will be an electrical subject matter expert in the area of solar cells and solar array electrical design and will work with mechanical teams to implement a solar array solution for a LEO satellite. You will study options for solar cell technology and solutions, and provide electrical input on cell selection trades for current and future satellite designs. You will create and maintain detailed electrical models of solar array designs and understand impact of radiation, temperature and other significant space-environment factors. You will own test campaigns to validate solar cell and array performance, both for design

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, material science or other PV related discipline, or relevant experience · 7+ years of electrical engineering experience specifically in solar array design · Graduate degree with focus on PV technology · 7+ years of experience in solar array design for space applications, from conceptual phase through production. · Good understanding of solar DCDC power converters and maximum power point tracking algorithms. · Extensive experience in testing of solar array designs for space environments (temperature, radiation, etc) · Ability to apply critical
