We are building a rapidly growing new business in transportation. In this role, you will be guiding the DE strategy in one of the world's largest and most complex data environments. You should be passionate about working with disparate datasets, ingesting new data and connecting it all to answer business questions. You will need to have deep expertise in the creation and management of datasets which will be used by business intelligence engineers and research scientists to drive our business forward. To empower data driven decisions we currently run analytics out of multiple Redshift clusters. This role will be responsible for keeping Redshift performance and building capabilities for working with unstructured data such as AWS Elastic Map Reduce. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Lead the DE function for a BI team supporting hundreds of stakeholders · Design and develop efficient and reliable data pipelines · Provide server administration and infrastructure support for a large-scale analytical platform
· Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) · 7+ years industry experience as a Data Engineer or in a related field (i.e. Business Intelligence Engineer, Quantitative Analyst, Data Scientist, Software Engineer, etc.) with a strong track record of working with large and unstructured datasets · Data Warehousing Experience with Oracle, Redshift, Teradata, etc. · Proficiency in Python or another general-purpose programming language. · Understanding of data management fundamentals, data storage principles and distributed systems ·
