Microsoft Research AI (MSR AI) seeks exceptional researchers at the intersection of causal inference, machine learning, and related fields. MSR AI is comprised of researchers, engineers, and postdocs who take a broad perspective on the next generation of intelligent systems. We seek applicants working in all topics at the intersection of machine learning and causal reasoning, including (1) using causal insights to enhance the generalizability, fairness, performance or other properties of machine learning methods; (2) improving causal inference, counterfactual prediction, and causal discovery algorithms using machine learning methods; and (3) applications of causal reasoning in online, physical, and other domains. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability for independent research and a strong academic publication record.
