As Real Estate Counsel, Physical Retail, you will work with Amazon’s existing real estate attorneys and the retail real estate team to support Amazon’s Physical Retail business to launch and maintain new retail real estate locations. This position structures, drafts and negotiates agreements, solves ambiguous problems, manages outside counsel, and counsels internal business clients on: · Tenant-side retail leasing and support; · Construction and other supporting agreements; · Lease dispute interpretation and solutions; · Other commercial transactions, ranging from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value transactions. You’ll use a combination of outstanding legal skills, cross-functional thinking, and strategic business judgment to help the
· 5+ years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as a real estate attorney · Leasing experience required (retail leasing a plus) · Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required. · In-house experience in a technology, retail or real estate company · High attention to detail, including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously · Construction, procurement and/or EHS experience is a plus · Ability to think strategically and execute methodically · Ability to demonstrate
