Amazon’s Supply Chain Optimization Team is looking for a passionate, talented program manager to lead the growth of a high impact research portfolio in the transportation space. The team is responsible for optimizing the global transportation and fulfillment network for Amazon.com and ensuring that the company is able to deliver our customers’ products to them as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. We manage the flow of packages from fulfillment centers (FCs) to both carrier hubs and Amazon Logistics’ sort centers and delivery stations. Optimizing these package flows requires designing the structure and operating parameters of the network, and managing, scheduling, and routing line haul trucks and last mile delivery vehicles. We are seeking a motivated program manager, experienced in research and development problems, to lead the growth of exciting research initiatives in the area of transportation and logistics. · Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, Operations Research or Computer Science or the equivalent required · 10+ years of professional experience with 7+ years of product management experience · Demonstrated people and organizational management skills · Demonstrated experience shipping commercially successful products to market segments · Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines · Experience managing complex product development cycles · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Proven record of innovation and thought leadership·
