Amazon’s Sourcing team within SCOT (Supply Chain Optimization Technology) group is looking for an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to provide technical thought leadership on our goal to transform Amazon's supply chain from local/regional to a truly global distribution network. We owns fully automated systems for worldwide inventory planning, sourcing/procurement, inbound optimization, and supplier negotiation/management. We are starting on a multi-year initiative to map and optimize the supply chain from factories at origin to customer at destination for all products sold on Amazon worldwide. This involves rethinking and redesigning some of the core concepts that has been implemented over the years which limits the flexibility and scalability of our supply chain solutions. In doing so, we are also developing new science to solve our interaction with suppliers and other external partners in an automated/scalable way without dependency on humans within Amazon. Basic Qualification: • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (EE, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering) • 10+ years of work experience in technical program/product management • Ability to work with engineering community at all levels of the organization to gain consensus on technical decisions around ideas that are both transformational and disruptive. • Experience with defining and managing large scale distributed systems. • Comfortable leading meetings and communicating (verbally and written) with senior leadership • Strong software development background with experience
