Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Infrastructure Energy Team. In this role, you will develop strategies for delivering cost-effective, renewable energy for the Amazon portfolio. The candidate will need to be able to identify key market conditions, regulations, and market structures to develop a comprehensive energy procurement strategy. The optimal candidate will have a results orientated approach, analytical skill set, strong financial acumen, and demonstrated track record of working with Utilities, Regulators and developers across the energy industry. Function Specific Work Activities: · Support the development and execution of a comprehensive power procurement and renewable energy strategy for AWS data centers · Expand and develop AWS renewable energy strategy globally. · Manage the procurement program by working with utilities, suppliers, developers across the globe. · Responsible for formalizing the scope, due-diligence, quotes, performing project
· 10+ years of experience working in energy/finance/trading/utility industry · 5+ years’ experience in structuring, negotiating renewable energy projects in US, international energy markets. · Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required – Engineering/Economics/Business/Finance. · Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) preferred · Proven background in finance, investment in utility scale renewable projects, infrastructure development. · Strong background in wholesale power markets, regulations and market operations. · Strong negotiations skills; ability to develop and execute strategies to drive complex energy deals.
