Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Role: This is an electrical engineering position focusing on modelling, simulation and power system analysis for the project Kuiper satellite. You will create models of the satellite electrical power system, and create and/or manage simulations that track global payload customer demand and solar-energy harvest over a range of orbital parameters. In this role you will also be responsible for developing power system algorithms for battery charging, solar array maximum power point tracking and load shedding, and supporting other electrical engineers with detailed requirements for power converter designs. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have relentlessly high standards for yourself

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or software engineering, or relevant experience · 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in the area of power electronics · 3+ years of experience simulation, modelling and requirements definition for electric power system development · Power system design experience in the area of solar/electric vehicle, drone/uav, satellite, rocket, etc · Detailed knowledge or orbital mechanics and coordinate transformations. · Background in control systems and/or robotics · 5+ years of experience in design and test of battery charging electronics
