We design, develop, and deploy high performance, fault-tolerant distributed search systems used by millions of Amazon customers every day. In this role you will: · Devise strategy and roadmap to ensure Amazon Search remains resilient to hardware failures, dependency outages, and traffic spikes. · Build a new team focused on chaos engineering and provide vision and technical leadership to the team. · Design, implement, and execute failure injection experiments to identify vulnerabilities in the Search service. · Collaborate with component owners to remedy vulnerabilities, minimize blast radius, and harden the Search service. · Research cutting edge tools and practices in resilience engineering and adopt them as appropriate. · Recruit, mentor, and coach technical

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields. · At least 5 years of experience in resilience and chaos engineering. · At least 3 years of experience managing software engineering teams. · Understanding of large-scale distributed systems, networking, cloud computing, and service-oriented architecture. · Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.· Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. · Hands-on technical expertise; prior experience as
