Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a smart, experienced, and highly motivated litigator to help manage its worldwide portfolio of litigation and regulatory matters, and advise the company on a wide variety of cutting edge legal and business risk management issues. Responsibilities include handling, managing, and supervising a wide range of domestic and international disputes and regulatory engagements; directly interacting with government officials, including regulators and law enforcement; directing overall case and matter strategy, including selecting and managing outside counsel; assessing risk and coordinating with senior leadership on risk management; managing responses to discovery requests; and providing advice and counsel to internal stakeholders on a broad spectrum of complex and often novel legal issues in areas such as antitrust, consumer protection, criminal law, copyright, marketing, patents and trademarks, privacy and security, tax, transportation, and First Amendment

· Strong academic credentials, J.D. degree, and membership in good standing in at least one state bar · At least seven years of litigation and regulatory experience · At least three years of law firm experience · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills · Sound and practical business judgment, strong common sense, and a great sense of humor · Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity· Hands-on experience in complex domestic and international business litigation, including trial experience and counseling parties and witnesses in a variety of pre-dispute and dispute resolution
