To keep pace with increasing customer demand for cloud services, Microsoft's cloud infrastructure capacity is growing rapidly. In order to deliver cloud services to our customers worldwide, our datacenter operations teams must perform deployment, repair, maintenance and decommissioning tasks on one of the world's largest information technology fleets. The Standards and Tools team provides datacenter operations with processes, tools, and information necessary to perform all IT operations to standards of performance, quality, and cost. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, this team brings together innovations from datacenter operations, IT hardware design and engineering, cloud platform software engineering, site reliability engineering, and datacenter design and engineering in order to drive process improvements resulting in increased availability, improved customer experience, and more efficient operations for our cloud.
Key responsibilities: Partner with field operations to surface and standardize best practices globally Identify and catalog key IT processes and procedures Rank and prioritize process improvement efforts Identify and set process execution standards Analyze telemetry and process performance data relative to standard Identify, design, and specify software and hardware engineering features and investments to improve process performance and IT fleet availability Partner with engineering, change management, training and operations teams to implement updated processes and to assess impact to standard
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, computer science or equivalent experience 3+ years of datacenter experience and/or a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure 3+ years' experience in program and/or project management Preferred Qualifications: Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Proven success in participating in cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects. Practical knowledge of ITIL concepts and terminology Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN and continuous improvement
