Are you an experienced marketing communications leader with a passion for games and entertainment? Want to create integrated global marketing campaigns and content for some of the most exciting entertainment products and experiences in the industry?
The Devices and Studios (DnS) Integrated Marketing team is looking for a seasoned marketing communications professional with a passion for games and entertainment to lead and manage global marketing initiatives for the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One Live service. These initiatives include campaigns that will extend across primarily across digital, social, owned channels and retail.
Primary responsibility is driving campaign strategy and leading execution of, Xbox 360 and Xbox Live initiatives, including development of integrated marketing communications creative briefs, leading digital advertising programs from strategy through execution, overseeing video creation, and driving coordination with other global marketing disciplines including product marketing, digital direct, outbound digital, media, PR, consumer insights, and retail.
The right candidate will bring a combination of great experience in marketing communications strategy, creative development and production, strong abilities in project management, cross-team collaboration, and partner relationships. The role will include tight partnership with product marketing and the digital and direct marketing teams to drive campaign strategy and smart execution against Xbox 360 and Xbox Live marketing communications programs. This role is responsible for ensuring that all production output is of the highest creative caliber, integrated well across the campaigns, and can be leveraged worldwide.
This role reports into the Xbox Platform Integrated Marketing Communications Manager
- This role is also responsible for leading virtual teams and numerous campaign-related efforts that span the organization.
- It is an individual contributor role (no direct reports), although it does oversee some vendor (v-) personnel and day-to-day agency relationships

Must have extensive experience driving integrated digital campaigns for entertainment and/or technology brands and be able to manage advertising/marketing agencies. The successful candidate also must demonstrate the ability to work under tight deadlines, show thoughtfulness in campaign development, and resourcefulness in gathering requirements, input, and feedback. It is crucial to have the ability to know how to get things done at Microsoft and manage the complex matrix of stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign development and execution:
- Oversee global campaign strategy, creative development and production/execution and cross-campaign integration for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live - in partnership with global product marketing, digital marcom, consumer insights, regional teams and external agencies and partners. The vast majority of these campaigns are digital in nature (eg no TV advertising), so it's essential that the person in this role has a strong digital marketing background - with an emphasis on social and community.
- Oversee video production for campaigns and key event-related assets
- Drive communications and content distribution worldwide, including guidance for worldwide usage
- Drive a consistent strategy across all customer touchpoints, including the creative platform, messaging and creative assets (i.e. videos, screen libraries) and program assets (i.e. Games with Gold, Deals with Gold)

Project management:
- Budget ownership and management with agencies and production companies
- Partnership with Digital and our digital agency partners to ensure successful implementation across all digital channels (paid, owned and earned)
- Partnership with Media and our media agency partners to ensure successful implementation and deployment of creative
- Partnership with regional marketing and marcom leads to ensure successful implementation and execution in key markets around the world
- Partnership with Consumer Insights team and reporting on campaign measurement
- Partnership with the Worldwide Retail Services team and campaign implementation at retail
- Maintaining compliance with LCA, Geo Political and ESRB/ratings boards on the creative content approvals and clearances

Cross-team collaboration:
- Building and maintaining exceptional internal and external relationships with Media, PR, Member Engagement, Product Marketing, Digital, Worldwide Retail Services, Consumer Insights, Regional Subs and agencies/vendors
- Team and agency management

Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must have 7+ years of advertising and campaign development experience, with extensive experience working with or for an agency, with a demonstrative portfolio of work
- Solid digital marketing experience (online advertising, web design/development, digital direct, etc)
- Must be able to add strategic insight to projects you're involved in
- Must be nimble enough to negotiate with multiple stakeholders, be able to defend work, and also know when to accept direction
- Must know how to get work done at Microsoft
- Must understand the competitive and macro-economic landscape of the gaming and entertainment industries
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills while working with all levels within the company
- A strong drive for results, with a proven track record, often delivering under tight deadlines
- Budget management experience and the ability to manage large scale production budgets across multiple products and timelines.
- The ability to creatively resolve issues, understanding business constraints of resources, budgets, and timelines, while remaining adaptable and flexible
- Experience in strategy development, while bringing objectivity, "common sense" judgment, and "street smarts"
- Organizational agility and strong stakeholder management and cross-group collaboration skills will be critical to success, with demonstrated ability to execute through an influence model
- Exceptionally strong project management skills
- The candidate must have excellent problem solving skills, strong process and coordination skills, and must demonstrate initiative and a strong willingness to roll-up their sleeves to make things happen
- Experience with US and international games and/or the entertainment industry preferred
- BA/BS degree is required
