We are looking for a passionate and creative individual with expertise in Thermal Engineering who has a proven track record of developing complex, high volume consumer products.

The successful candidate will have the ability to perform thermal simulation and experimentally validate the thermal solution. A strong mix of technical breadth and depth is desired to tie electronics, optics, software and mechanical assemblies into compelling consumer experiences. Two to five years of experience in thermal design of consumer electronics products is required. A track record of innovation and experience in thermal measurements, simulation, materials, IC packaging and/or CFD to achieve cost targets is required in the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

o Perform simulation to accurately predict thermal performance in architecture phase
o Validate models and verify requirements are met at component, module and system level
o Impact product design decisions by providing reliable data, analysis and thermal insights.
o Communicate status and results to cross-functional teams and management.
o Travel occasionally to Asia for supplier meetings and factory builds

Qualifications:

o 2+ years of experience in thermal design of consumer electronics products
o Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Thermal Design, Heat Transfer or Fluid Dynamics is preferred
o The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and team player.
o Experience with manufacturing, thermal components supply chains and cross-communications between design, ODM and third party vendor teams is desired
o A solid understanding of material properties and mechanical behavior of materials is desired for this position
o The successful candidate should demonstrate a balance of experimental and theoretical approaches to obtain insight into thermal phenomena and solving problems
o Experience in using Design of Experiments and statistical analysis of experimental data
