Technology Solution Professional - SMSG Incubation Sales - StorSimple

Location: Northern California or Pacific Northwest

StorSimple is an emerging leader in the area of Cloud-integrated Storage (CiS) - a category of storage solutions that consolidate the management of primary data, backup disaster recovery and archival data, and deliver seamless integration between on premise and cloud environments. StorSimple Solutions will help our customers embrace cloud storage by integrating their on-premises investments with the cloud. This hybrid approach to storage aligns to our Cloud OS vision.

If so, then this is your chance to be part of a growing global team bringing Microsoft's Hybrid Cloud Storage solution to market. The SMSG Incubation Sales team for StorSimple is hiring a Technology Specialist with a passion for customers and technology.

The TSP position for StorSimple will be responsible to:
o Provide customer pre-sales technical support and readiness for the field sales force, POC scope and management, StorSimple deployment and partner readiness
o Work with StorSimple SSPs and a v-team of sellers across our NorCal and Pacific Northwest US commercial teams to drive StorSimple appliances and Azure revenue
o Aid in architecting solutions in a complex sales environment and remove Technical roadblocks
o Identify key trends & drive necessary improvements in sales & product to capitalize on opportunities.
o Work with partners in joint solution and integration with StorSimple technologies
o Develop and maintain competitive analysis including white papers, solution briefs, application notes, and presentations

Requirements and Skills/Qualifications:
o Strong understanding of storage and cloud computing technologies, emerging trends and related technology including knowledge of competitors
o Able to articulate pros & cons of infrastructure and storage design/architecture decision across a wide spectrum of factors - e.g. latency, workload sizing, performance requirements, etc.
o Able to coach and mentor a broad constituency - TSPs, Consultants, Partners, & Customers.
o Able to distill widely variant feedback into root cause issues and provide actionable feedback to other stakeholders
o Strong working knowledge of storage and backup architectures and topology (iSCSI, NAS & SAN) along with file systems (UFS, NFS, NTFS)
o Experience working with databases such as MS SQL Server, SharePoint and Exchange, particularly as related to storage, backup and DR operations for these applications
o Experience developing storage sizing and performance guidelines and/or tools.

Education & Experience:
o A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required as a Technical Sales/Technical Marketing engineer in the area of storage technologies, with overall 10 years of experience in the high-tech industry.
o A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
o Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
o Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal. Good public speaking skills are desirable
