The Large Screen Devices Process and Release team is looking for a driven and highly accomplished TFS Support Engineer. Be a part of a pivotal change at Microsoft where we are going to build on the process successes of the XBOX gaming and entertainment business to enhance and extend them to other development groups within MDG.
This is a fun opportunity to work with the process team on projects which support world-class software developers, hardware engineers and marketing teams as they create products that have an impact on tens or even hundreds of millions of end users. We are looking for an energetic, highly capable candidate with demonstrated ability to manage, enhance and support our TFS users across the MDG and partner organizations.

We are engaged in development and administration of highly-available, engineering methodology support systems such as TFS to enable our technical teams to concentrate on creating great product, while collaborating in a structured, visible way. We create artifacts supporting the necessary processes to fulfill aggressive schedules and high volume manufacturing in a creative and flexible way. We stand ready to support systems that these members of the team count on to progressively and successfully deliver product.
Key responsibilities include:
Team Foundation Server Development/Support
Update the templates, as necessary, across all TFS projects
Integrate external tools with TFS
Manage security permissions across TFS projects
Implement features for automation
Customize projects for the engineering teams
Create and update training material for new users
Interpret engineering requests and create detailed specifications for implementation from those requirements
Keep working notes of implementation and fixes
Requirements gathering
Work cross-functionally across teams at Microsoft for new TFS requirements
Evangelize TFS to partner teams at Microsoft Devices Group
Aid in training new users of how to use TFS, including employment of features that make TFS easier to use
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, responsive environment; must have ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making
Proven expertise with TFS, both operationally and administratively
Good working knowledge C# and Java script skills
Evidence of proficiency with PowerShell
Knowledge of Microsoft Development tools/environments, especially Visual Studio and SharePoint and Product Studio
Solid debugging, testing, and other problems solving skills
Ability to join a small team and fill in the holes
Good PC and Office productivity skills
Experience conducting explicit code reviews
