Microsoft Supply chain is a constantly changing ecosystem and we are looking for a Regional Planner based in Redmond, WA. The Regional Planning role sits within our Global Supply Chain Planning organization, and will work closely with cross functional teams including Supply Planning team, Customer Logistics, Regional Operations, and Sales and Marketing to ensure demand and supply are aligned along with ensuring key Planning deliverables are achieved.

This is a highly visible position that will oversee management and continuous improvement of planning systems, processes, and engagement models for key products like Xbox, Surface, Software, Surface Hub, and the Band.

This individual will require engagement with the Lines of Business (LOB) Leaders as well as the LOB Finance leaders. You will serve as a bridge between the regional commercial leaders, Channel management, Manufacturing, and Category groups.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinates monthly Regional planning for all product/equipment businesses, including:
Regularly communicating status of shipments/backlog/supply commitments versus business revenue commitments for the current month and current quarter
Understanding specific demand Risks and Opportunities and driving actions with team to address each of them
Serving as the point-person for escalation of demand/supply related issues and driving alignment of plan of record across all functions
Aligning and coordination of allocation processes and activities
Cleansing and maintenance of statistical forecasting
Drive demand shaping activities based on inventory positions and business goals
Monitor and manage key metrics to influence continuous improvement of the process

2. Leads monthly medium- and longer-term demand-supply planning forums for product businesses, including:
Monitoring regional Supply v Demand Gaps and driving mitigation plans and supporting allocations to minimize risks
Analytically evaluating in-region demand plans and providing exception-based feedback
Consolidating region forecasts and shares directly with Supply Planning to ensure continuity of supply
Interact with Supply Planning Managers for finished goods stocking targets
Identifying and recommending action on potential E&O risks
3. Provides organizational leadership for ongoing continuous improvement of Regional planning capabilities and approaches
Providing feedback and coaching to regional commercial leaders
Leveraging internal as well as external information, conducting detailed statistical modelling and analysis to recommend analytically-based improvements to demand plans
Working with NPI, Launch Management, and Supply Planning to ensure new product demand/supply alignment
Supports S&OP, Annual Operating Plan, and quarterly financial forecasts

What we're looking for:
Four to six years of relevant professional experience in the electronics industry - which could include manufacturing, supply chain, sales, finance, or strategy
Exceptional analytical skills and detail oriented. Strong ability to develop analytical approaches and work plans, data analysis and management, and develop conclusions and recommendations
Proven experience using SAP/APO
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and other large database programs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills/style when working with tactical team members and senior-level individuals from different geographies and functional disciplines. Able to manage organizational tension and conflict
Solid presentation skills, including creation of crisp, executive-level presentation materials and presenting to large meetings of senior-level people
Able to work independently and achieve goals with limited direction and oversight
Experience with and understanding SAP/APO plus basic statistical modelling techniques including multi-variant regression analyses is a plus
This will require working with our organizations, globally - work hours require flexibility.
