The Global Planning Organization within the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) group is looking for a Sr. Supply Planner that will develop planning strategy and drive execution of the plans to support the strategic objectives of the business. Example portfolios include, but are not limited to, products in the Xbox, Surface, Wearables, Accessories, Mobile, and Perceptive Pixel lines. Strong leadership and communication are critical to the role, as the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure alignment among the cross-functional teams in the end-to-end supply chain through-out the entire lifecycle of the product. The candidate will also be required to mentor, train, and on-board junior members of the Planning Organization.

Key accountabilities for the role are as follows:
Planning Strategy: develop a planning strategy that strikes the right balance between flexibility and cost that supports the strategic objectives of the business.
Business Execution and Performance Management: drive cross-functional partners to deliver on accountabilities to ensure the right product, is in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. Internal functional teams include: Dev, Sourcing, Planning, Sales/Marketing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Channel, and NPI.
Capabilities and process improvement: enable scale and complexity for the business by proactively identifying process improvements, system enhancements, and overall resource requirements to support the ever changing needs of the business.
Performance Management: Drive factories to deliver on Service Level Agreements.
Presentations: present holistic solutions for the supply chain and drive decisions at lead-times that support the business.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
Subject matter expert in SAP/APO planning modules.
6-10 years relevant experience in supply chain; preferably in high tech industry.
4 Year Degree, Master's/MBA preferred
Ability to independently develop executive level communications/presentations
Passionate about the Microsoft products and a "team-first", "customer-first" approach
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs/projects
Strong user of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis and Excel and Powerpoint.
Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Project Management experience for initiatives that span multiple functions
Demonstrated ability to work independently; comfortable with ambiguity

General Purpose:
Care Supply Chain Planners will manage short term planning of supply requirement plans for Microsoft's Care Central Warehouses. This person will be responsible for supply and recovery planning of Spare parts and replacement devices supplied from various components suppliers, and MSFT factories including ODM manufacturing partners. World-class Supply Chain Management is one of the key success factors of Microsoft's Mobile/Cloud driven business, and Care Supply Planner's is important to ensure customer satisfaction and company finance success. .

Main Responsibilities:
Manages component/replacement device forecasts, coordinates purchasing activities with Materials Management team.
Balancing repair/recovered units by collaboration with Weekly Planning, Sales and Operation planning, Manufacturing planning ,Launch readiness and Repair/Recovery readiness management team
Monitors inventory levels, takes corrective and preventive actions with related functions to avoid shortages and excess/obsolete stock
Maintains product/component master data and system settings
Provides regular and ad-hoc performance summaries with fact-based root cause analysis. Proposes & carries out corrective and preventive actions

Key competences/experiences
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, materials or operations related fields preferred, APICs certification a plus.
2-5 years planning, availability management, materials management, logistics and/or sourcing experience
Communication and relationship management skills in cross-cultural environment
Drives development and implementation of processes and tools related to supply planning and management
Efficient influencing and change management skills across organizations and cultural boundaries
Proven track record of building and fostering a truly global team that delivers steady, high performance in an environment requiring 24 hour reaction speed, and under a continuous business pressure.
