The Global Packaging organization in Microsoft's MSC (Manufacturing & Supply Chain) is looking for an exceptional structural packaging engineer with over 6 years of experience to lead the Technical Services group whose mission is to provide expert level support to the engineering and design functions in the areas of concept prototyping, package testing, logistics analysis and engineering support. This drives high levels of efficiency and quality to the overall organization.

The ideal candidate will have significant depth of experience in all technical aspects of package development as well as experience working in a fast-paced environment having impact across different functions.The candidate will be part of the Global Packaging team based in Redmond, WA and will partner closely with structural packaging engineers and designers in Redmond and MACH.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Responsible for overseeing the technical services team in Redmond including management of workflow and priorities.

-Defining the worldwide strategy for the Technical Services organization.

-Oversight of lab, including testing and prototyping facilities and defining future needs and capabilities.

-Defining work processes, budgeting and staffing needs.

-Managing the Technical Services website.

-Specifications process, format and data management.

-Management of key documentation (SOPs, best practices, tools and templates).

-Supply chain optimization across different business streams.

-Ensuring process and specifications compliance.

Skills and Qualifications:

-Packaging Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.

-6 years+ experience in packaging engineering role and program management.

-Expert knowledge of CAD, engineering drawings and specifications, quality systems and PDM.

-Conversant with package testing protocols.

-Highly organized individual with high capacity and good priority setting.

-High technical rigor. Process-oriented.

-Working knowledge of environmental aspects of packaging.

-Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
