MTE (Manufacturing Test Engineering) is a well-established product group responsible for manufacturing Microsoft branded hardware products. Our team partners closely with different product groups to plan and to manufacture hardware to the quality that is critical to product specification. We also design and implement engineering and telemetry systems in our global facilities. With all the latest addition of HoloLens, Surface Hub and Microsoft band, to name a few; we are actively looking for experienced software developers in test with strong testing mentality and a passion for quality to continue to ingest engineering excellence in our end to end quality assurance process for manufacturing defects.

Successful candidate should have excellent software coding and debugging skills. This position will need to work closely with global team in delivering our manufacturing test systems to different parts of the world. Strong communication skill is a must. Experience working with hardware and low level device debugging will be a big plus.

Requirements:
o Strong testing mentality and an eye for quality defects
o 5+ years' experience with software test development using C# or C++, using OOP best practices.
o Strong debugging and technical problem solving skills, as well as a passion to solve hard, ambiguous problems.
o Experience in developing test plans/strategies and ability to collaborate cross team to define measurement for quality, assess risk and mitigation plan.
o BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
o Experience working in hardware manufacturing is a plus.
o Demonstrated ability to work as a self-starter in a collaborative, self-directed manner.
o Hands-on experience working with and implementing Lean/Agile software development practices is a plus.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing new experiences, as well as improving our existing dashboard applications. Our team does a mix of mid-level API work and higher-level application work and integrating with services is key. There will be an opportunity to demonstrate cross-organizational influence as we work with our partners across Xbox and Microsoft's Operating Systems Group.

Candidate responsibilities:

Develop, design, modify and optimize Xbox dashboard applications and subsystems
Work with Designers, PM, and Quality counterparts on prototyping and implementing new features
Participate in code reviews
Maintain high quality coding and validation standards throughout the development cycle

Candidate requirements:

Passion for gaming
2+ years of development skills in C/++/C#, preferably with UI experience
Proven track record of fantastic cross-group skills
The ability to thrive under ambiguity
Desire to work across team, with program management, design, and quality to make the right technical and product decisions
A passion for working in an agile team that gets things done quickly

Bonus skills:

Windows or Xbox system development, particularly with C++/CX, C#, and XAML
Experience with integration of service calls and cloud computing
BA/BS or advanced degree in Computer Science preferred but not required
