The Large Screen Devices Process and Release team is looking for a driven and capable and broadly experienced Software Developer. Be a part of a pivotal change at Microsoft where we are going to build on the process successes of the XBOX gaming and entertainment business to enhance and extend them to other development groups within MDG. You will be an integral member of a small team, driving enhancements and extensions to existing systems, including new features, systems integrations and ongoing support as we evolve our applications and tools.

Process management is complex and crucial to the development of world-class devices here at Microsoft. We are investing deeply to provide software-driven solutions to enable and enforce application of our development methodologies; we are focused on making these tools and systems easy to use and provide value to the entire product delivery team and their leaders. We are seeking a highly motivated software developer who is passionate about creating high quality, scalable, and reliable platforms and services that will be used by dozens of teams employing our e2e processes.

Responsibilities include:
Drive the development and execution of platform and features that deliver end-user impact and value
Work with the small team to specify, architect, construct, test and deploy a backlog of feature requests our applications and systems
Help gather functional requirements and turn them into technical solutions
Gather and document technical requirement documentation for the team
Gain a deep understanding of multiple key systems and the integration touch points
Play a key role in both development and test

Dependability, self-direction, sound problem solving skills, technical trouble-shooting, negotiation, decision-making skills, and a passion for web, database and modern application platforms are important. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as detail-oriented organizational skills, are also required. Knowledge of Windows Server products, source control (Source Depot or TFS preferred), experience with writing automated scripts (CMD, PowerShell, VBS, etc.) are important, and cloud experience is a plus.

Successful candidates will have:
A passion for improving and evolving collaboration, engineering practices, and producing high quality software.
6+ years of experience in a software engineer, developer and/or software testing role
BS or MS in Computer Science or industry related experience equivalent.
Strong OO programming skills using C# and SQL, plus HTML5, ASPX, JavaScript, jQuery
Proven skills in web Services, ASP.Net MVC application development and cloud-based deployments
Ability to lead architectural & design discussions targeting high availability, scalability and performance
Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
Experience writing and debugging Script Languages
Innovative thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
Knowledge of Agile product development methodology
Strong knowledge of Windows internals and modern application development
Strong SQL Server database skills
Experience working with i-e2e, RTS or OneView is a plus
A good understanding how TFS, SharePoint and other platforms can augment our developed systems
