We are looking for a highly motivated developer to design and develop Unified Communications services as highly scalable, reliable, secure, efficient hosted services. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of server software designed for running in a modern cloud environment at high scale and reliability. You must be able to take a complex problem, break it down and develop highly modular and clean code. You must have a proven track record spanning all aspects of software development life cycle. Software development experience in SIP, UCMA, RTP, Exchange Unified Messaging is a plus.

Software Development Engineers at Skype are responsible and accountable for defining acceptance criteria for feature development. They will develop and implement test plans for end to end testing of complex, multi-tier distributed applications throughout the full software development stack. They will play a key role in ensuring all appropriate applications (including new and in production) are fully tested and instrumented to drive and measure optimal customer experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- As a Software Engineer on the Skype for Business mobile platform team, you will be working on the common platform that sits below the Skype for Business app on Windows Phone, iOS and Android.
- You will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining an automated testing framework to work cross platform.
- You will help to ensure we ship a high-quality product on-time.
- You will help define an end to end automation test strategy.
- Work closely with development on automation architecture and design and to ensure integrity, reliability and effectiveness of automation.
- Support, maintain and document the automation infrastructure and procedures.
- Develop and executing automated end to end tests, analyzing and reporting results as well as maintaining, extending and enhancing automation harness and testing infrastructure over time
- Work with the team to identify telemetry needed for end to end user scenarios and adopt the appropriate telemetry infrastructure.
- Analyze the telemetry for quality trends such as defects and design issues. Work with the team to mitigate the quality issues.
- Issues tracking, reporting defects to developers, get beyond the problem report providing detailed information from isolated testing scenario to relevant logs to developer to fast resolution.

Candidate Profile:
- Prior QA and mobile automation testing experience.
- Experience with all aspects/phases of automation including GUI, integration and stress testing.
- 6+ C++/C/C# programming experience
- 3+ software testing experience
- Ability to work across a matrix organization and be effective cross-functionally
- Experience with creating test plans and test cases
Preferred experience
- Mobile application development or testing experience on Android, iOS or Windows Phone
- Experience of Agile and iterative development processes, e.g. Scrum
- VOIP and real time messaging experience
- Experience working with cross-functional, geographically diverse teams

We are the Core Business Server team in Skype. We are looking for a talented SDE to help realize the scenarios that enables seamless interconnection and communication between consumers/enterprise, and enterprise/enterprise. You will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of multi-tenant, carrier-grade solutions that support rapid growth, autonomic recovery and incredible global scale with scenarios spanning on-premise to the cloud. You must be capable of taking a data driven approach to problem solving and find the best solution for a technical problem whether it be to leverage/extend an existing middleware or build it from scratch. You must have experience all aspects of software development life cycle spanning multiple product cycles. ABOUT THE POSITION

Our product provides communication and collaboration services across the enterprise and the consumer. The position includes owning your feature from inception to release.

Test automation is critical to being successful in the role and finding innovative ways to reduce manual testing while ensuring that end user scenarios are validated is imperative. Engineering solutions to validate large scale services in a distributed environment across the globe while being able to assert functionality and measure reliability is only a taste of the challenges that we face every day. You'll be expected to own the execution of your work items to ensure that the project plan remains on track.
