We are looking for a highly skilled and confident Service Engineer for our Operations.
The Operating System Division is developing the latest technologies, as well as provides Services for many groups throughout the company. The Operations Team supports and maintains the Engineering System, and a number of test labs. We require someone that can intelligently manage, improve, and drive the services that we provide for the future of Microsoft. We are looking for individuals with a passion for mobile and entertainment devices and helping us build the next generation of world class devices!

Primary Responsibilities include
Work with Development, Quality, and PM to understand operations requirements and drive solutions to their critical work items.
Work with Development to drive operational centric changes to the way our products are developed and operate.
Identify and drive improvements within the existing Engineering System, with a focus around more efficient and use of existing resources.
Work with various managers, Operations Staff, and finance controllers to create a budget projection, in both the lab hardware and vendor spend categories.
Work closely with customers of the Engineering System. Understand the work they do in order to provide a high level of support.
Oversee Vendor Acquisition including sourcing, planning, and reporting financial requirements back to individual teams and management
Identify, evangelize, and deploy new technologies or automation that improves the operations within supported Engineering System
Drive for and ensure issues are responded to and resolved within a standard SLA.
Create issue metrics showing number and type of issues, issue life-cycle and mean-time to resolution.
Promote the use of central core services and facilitate partner owned systems transition to the core services offerings
Work closely with the rest of the Operations and Services teams for identifying and escalating problems.
Communicate progress/status reports to senior management

Qualifications
4+ years' experience as a Service Operations or Service Engineer directly supporting Development and Quality in a product team environment.
Must have experience working directly with Development on the design and architecture of services and applications used by the Engineering System

o Drive for and ensure issues are responded to and resolved within a standard SLA.
o Promote the use of central core services and facilitate partner owned systems transition to the core services offerings.
o Work closely with the rest of the Operations and Services teams for identifying and escalating problems.
o Communicate progress/status reports to senior management

Qualifications
4+ years' experience as a Service Operations, Service Engineer or equivalent experience directly supporting Development and Quality in a product team environment.
