As the world moves more and more into mobile devices and the cloud, we are evolving our protection technologies to protect from the cloud, and to leverage the cloud to deliver a high protection level to our customers. The Protection team is investing heavily in building state of the art cloud online services giving us the capability to collect, analyze and respond to malware threats leveraging vast amounts of data. As a Senior Service Engineer in the Protection team you will have the opportunity to work on project teams planning, designing, and optimizing these next generation online services.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with Program Management and Software Engineers to design, implement, and measure short and long term evolution of our platform and services Defining key reliability measures for our system like SLA and KPIs (Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators) Application debugging and problem isolation Contribute to managing a large Azure hosted service - including compute, SQL Azure, Storage, etc.

Provide technical expertise to perform root cause analysis of service interrupting incidents and develop strategies to prevent recurrence Perform service feature design reviews Statistical analysis of systems trending data and reviewing logs to identify system Performance and Availability bottlenecks and potential incidents Provide guidance to product development teams on operability, manageability, security and data-flow Develop service monitoring strategies Build systems management automation and tooling capabilities Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery solutions, and new system capacity projections Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in accordance with high level objectives/projects

The Ideal candidate would have the following qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years' experience with a combination of the following:

o Degree in Computer Science (CS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or Equivalent
o Passion and experience for building extremely scalable, stable and manageable online services
o Advanced Troubleshooting, Debugging & Diagnostics
o Experience and Expertise in Systems Life Cycle Development Principles
o Experience in Coding (Visual Basic & C#) & Scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, TSQL, Perl, others...)
o Knowledge of and experience interacting with Data Center Service Operations & Engineering Support
o Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, clustering, and networking protocols
o Experience with Azure Services and Components from design to optimization a plus
o IIS 7+ design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience
o System Implementation & Maintenance - Configuration, Security, Monitoring, Load Balancing, Content Delivery, etc.
