Microsoft Research seeks a motivated Senior Research Hardware Design Engineer to join a vibrant research and development team on designing and prototyping advanced devices and systems. The engineer will be responsible for electronic circuit design, build and testing, supplier and vendor coordination, and system integration. Candidates must have a Master or PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related fields. Must have 5+ years of experiences in using circuit design and testing software and instruments. Three years of experiences of independent or leading projects on designing low power devices and low power networking is required. Candidates should demonstrate capabilities of making clear design decisions under complex constraints and being rigorous on evaluation, documentation, and communication. Advanced knowledge on hardware/software tradeoffs, sensors, and signal processing is preferred. Above all, the candidate should be motivated to work in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment and willing to go wherever it takes to make projects successful.
