The MTE team develops and produces hiplexity hardware/software systems that are deployed into Microsoft device manufacturing operations for Xbox, Surface, Kinect and other Microsoft hardware devices. These systems are the MTE products and are used to test Microsoft devices through all stages of the manufacturing process to ensure every device is of the highest quality before it ships to our customers. The MTE PM team is looking for a Senior Program Manager who is passionate about designing and building world-class products and up to the challenge of delivering the systems that test the Surface Hub devices Microsoft manufactures in Wilsonville Oregon. We are seeking a proven development program leader and team builder that can work across many different teams, coordinating with the senior leadership of our partners and customers, to deliver high-quality manufacturing test system solutions on time and on budget. To be successful you must excel at working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that spans multiple time zones, be able to coordinate numerous deliverables and dependencies, be able to quickly understand and incorporate new technologies and services, have strong technical skills, and be passionate about producing high-impact results and delivering top quality products every time. Key attributes of this role include: - Interfacing effectively with multiple teams during the early phases of a new program startup and then driving the program through on-boarding all the way through production release and sustaining - Defining and driving the right management level program review cadence and content - Partnering with management on continuous improvement in engineering processes - Leading your team through budget planning and forecasting, interfacing with the required tools/processes - Innovative problem solving skills and a passion for finding root cause and solving problems once - Ability to define clear requirements from ambiguous sources and conflicting opinions - Strong leadership, team and cross-team skills - Ability to overcome conflicting opinions and achieve consensus and alignment - Ability to work across all levels of an organization, including executive leadership Position requirements: Candidates are expected to have the following qualifications: - At least 5 years of experience as a Program Manager or similar technical discipline - Demonstrated experience with building and shipping hardware as well as software, and high-quality products on time - Excellent project management skills, including coordinating complex schedules across teams and time zones - Demonstrated ability to juggle and appropriately prioritize multiple high-profile projects at once - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Strong ability to negotiate with and influence other teams and partners, including external suppliers, and manage large budgets wisely - Experience with using software to test hardware systems or manufacturing processes a plus - A BS CS/EE degree or equivalent Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
