Microsoft is looking for a Senior Program Manager with exceptional communication and technical skills to help provide leadership in the database and analytics market. This is a role based in sunny Southern California in "Silicon Beach" Orange County.
As a Senior Program Manager for Microsoft's Data Warehousing group, you will be responsible for driving the entire product from inception to delivery, including technical and strategic direction. You will be closely involved in defining compelling scenarios, participating in worldwide launches, engaging with global field teams, with a reach and breadth that can only be found within a multinational company like Microsoft.
This is an exciting position that requires a candidate passionate about continuously delivering highly innovative combined software- and hardware-based analytics solutions to the market. A position at this level requires a candidate who needs little to no supervision and a proven self-starter capable of understanding what needs to be done and makes it happen.

Responsibilities
Work with our customers to understand and evaluate customer use-cases appropriate for their business along with the ecosystem of products and tools that are involved in satisfying their needs.
Manage entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to EOL
Own the product roadmap as it relates to data warehousing and analytics, lead the product feature planning process and work closely with engineering to ensure successful delivery.
Define, track and interpret key business metrics to track overall product success.
Understand the market and competition, and develop product and competitive positioning.
Work collaboratively with and engage business and engineering leaders both within Microsoft and within the broader ecosystem of partners. Support field enablement and other go-to-market activities.

Profile

Ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in computer science and 5+ years relevant business experience. Direct experience in software engineering is very valuable.

Deep background in technology, development and marketing.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge in large, fault tolerant and highly scalable enterprise data and cloud solutions. Experience in relational database, BI/analytics, and/or NoSQL products very valuable.

Required Basic Qualifications:
Experience in database technologies, storage, distributed systems and SQL
Five years of Program Management experience with demonstrated success in complex software projects
Computer Science Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
