The Microsoft Marketing Community Team is charged with developing a strong community for our marketing professionals and delivering timely, relevant communications and talent development opportunities for the One Marketing Group, comprised of 2,000+ individuals across multiple corporate and product marketing disciplines, plus the broader field, audience and segment marketing communities at Microsoft. In this role, the Senior Marketing Communications Manager will identify and understanding marketing trends in the broader B2C, B2B and technology marketing landscape, determine the best channels to socialize these trends, and develop unique and innovative ways for marketers at Microsoft to both learn from, and share their marketing knowledge and best practices. S/he will draw on both expertise in a range of marketing competencies and best practices, knowledge of our internal marketing strengths and growth areas, as well as a broad network of marketing counterparts in other companies and industries to benchmark our skills and programs, keep a finger on the pulse of what's new and next, have or develop in-depth knowledge of key seminars, conferences and skills development events. S/he has excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills and is able to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.

This role will require limited domestic and international travel.

Key Focus Areas Include:
Drive development and oversee execution of the plan to improve, leverage and benchmark the marketing acumen across consumer and technology industries that aligns with the marketing disciplines and competencies and supports the business priorities of the One Marketing Group.
Develop relationships and partnerships with peers and influentials across the industry, and establish and maintain a core set of external conferences, seminars and other learning opportunities that align with the Marketing Professional Development priorities.
Partner with HR, the Marketing Leadership Team and a broad cross-section of marketing stakeholders to understand and align programs to business priorities and organizational needs, including driving our Marketing Rewards and Recognition program.
Partner with peers on the Marketing Community team to ensure alignment and collaboration across team-level initiatives, and drive demand for our programs and services.
Develop and deliver regular reports on the effectiveness of Talent Development programs.
Manage budget, contracts, purchase orders and invoicing for programs as needed.

Position Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of and experience working across multiple marketing disciplines.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and work across the One Marketing community, as well as a broad network of external industry peers and contacts.
Extensive experience in project management and driving multiple programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills and creative thinking.
Self-motivated and able to work on long-term projects with little direction.
Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
10+ years in high-tech and/or consumer marketing.
BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred.
