Role & Opportunity:
This senior engineering role is within the technology team that designs, develops and launches next generation Display, Touch and Pen technologies across Surface product-lines. You will define and deliver innovative technologies that are pivotal in the user experience of Surface. The position involves working closely with display architects, development engineers of various disciplines, as well as component suppliers and manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities include the creation of the design specifications and delivering the core designs for touch interfaces and display drive systems. You will be responsible for driving component selection, schematic capture and board layout requirements. You will work in partnership with suppliers as well as internal cross-functional teams to ensure the robustness of the system design and ensure smooth transition of these designs to manufacturing.

This role also includes responsibility for providing expertise in desense across multiple architectures and ensuring specifications and designs have desense mitigation techniques (shielding, grounding, filtering, etc) as part of the design across touch, displays, flexs working across the team. You will apply your desense engineering know-how to help investigate and debug performance issues, and devise and verify fixes and improvements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum BS/MS in Electrical or similar field
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and shipping product solutions of medium to hiplexity, including a minimum of 3 years of experience in the consumer PC or consumer electronics industry
- Knowledge in both analog and digital electronic design
- Solid understanding of core engineering principles, fundamental circuit design, and analytical techniques is required, as well as demonstrated experience in analog/digital electronics design/bring-up/debug
- Experience with Manufacturing partners and design for manufacturing and test
- Demonstrated expertise in the areas of system noise generation and mitigation solutions, as well as experience with circuit level design (PCB layout, filtering, circuit characterization) and debug
- Experience with display and touch systems desired
- Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms
- Enthusiastic and motivated, with a team oriented approach
- Domestic and international travel may be required
