MDG's centralized antenna development team is looking for a highly motivated and seasoned Electrical Engineer who enjoys bringing both technical and tactical leadership to cross-disciplinary teams and is excited about leading system-level and sub-system designs through fast-paced product development cycles. Our team supports of a variety of teams and products like Microsoft Band, HoloLens, Xbox products and of course to be named later devices.

The successful candidate will join a team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the conception, design and optimization of wireless systems for across MDG products by theoretical analysis, simulation and prototype development. This will include the design of antenna system and front-end architecture that meets performance targets specified by radiated metrics such as TIS, TRP, SAR, and HAC and system metrics such as throughput and range. A strong mix of technical breadth and depth will allow you to work cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, acoustic and industrial designers to understand, identify and drive requirements.

Candidates for this position must have experience in board-level RF hardware design for commercial wireless products, and have up-to-date working knowledge of the wireless chipsets and product landscape. Position responsibilities will cover all phases of product development, including concept definition, solution evaluation, design implementation & verification, and transfer to manufacturing. Candidates must also be able to interface effectively with internal and external partner teams, including embedded firmware, software, test, program management, sourcing, and manufacturing.

Job Requirements
- 10+ years of board-level RF design experience for commercial wireless products
- Has shipped commercial wireless products before
- Experienced with Antenna design for mobile embedded products
- De-sense engineering evaluation and debug
- Board-level schematic & PCB layout design for RF applications
- Understanding of RF front-end, transceiver and system architecture, components, and specifications
- Hands-on experience with current industry standard RF measurement equipment
- Board level debugging skills and ability to oversee the PCB layout process
- Experience with EMC testing for regulatory compliance (FCC/CE)
- Knowledge of indoor propagation, channel modelling, and techniques to combat multipath
- Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive test strategies and plans based on design specs
- Proven ability to organize, analyze, summarize and present large sets of test result data
- Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar field. MS preferred
- The position requires international travel to support manufacturing builds, ~15% travel required
