As the size and complexity of our engagement portfolio within US Public Sector Services (USPS) grows we need to the ability to scale, drive consistency and repeatability, increase the maturity of our program and project management disciplines to ensure high quality delivery and customer satisfaction. US Public Sector Services, Department of Defense is looking for a Delivery Excellence Project Manager who demonstrates an advanced mix of skills in community leadership, project management, driving change, and strategic business acumen. The candidate will apply solid program / project management methodologies, risk mitigation, people leadership skills in enabling delivery teams to deliver projects with high quality, on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. This position requires working closely with the delivery project teams and others leaders in the USPS delivery organization to ensure delivery of high quality services to our customers leveraging the IP and offerings we have within the organization including delivery methodologies, quality management programs, readiness initiatives, and knowledge management tools.

The candidate must have a passion for the customer, the business and our people, which is demonstrated through excellence in driving a quality-centered culture and best practices for services delivered both onsite and remotely. The ideal candidate will exude project management competence, with experience successfully releasing products or solutions across the entire engagement lifecycle in complex and challenging environments.

The selected candidate will apply solid project management and leadership skills and experience in delivering projects on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. This candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate must have experience in managing medium to large size teams on site and remote.

As a Microsoft Project Manager, you will help identify, pursue, and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing accounts. To accomplish this, the Microsoft Project Manager must be effective in fostering executive-level relationships. The successful candidate will help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW).

Responsibilities:

o Delivers engagements within the constraints of schedule, features/functionality, and budget.

o Manages the work that must be done in order to deliver an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering

o Establishes a strategy of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the project life cycle and create an environment to support it where the project team has visible, measurable, and repeatable processes for managing these risks

o Executes established (as mutually agreed to) policies and procedures for the project, e.g. quality assurance, team reference guide, communication plan, and setting up the environment.

o Manages (as mutually agreed) Microsoft resources, partners and/or customer resources and materials (equipment, supplies, stock, or consumable/perishable items) used to complete tasks in a project.

o Maintains the Master Project Plan to include at least: the Communication Plan (communications within the team and between the team and external entities) and the Team Reference Guide Plan (identifies team and external team members). In addition, maintains the Master Project Schedule.

o Stays current and involved in collecting conditions of the project relative to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality) as specified by the established project protocol. In addition, performs the process of comparing actual performance with planned performance, analyze variances, evaluate possible alternatives and take appropriate corrective action (control) as specified by the established project protocol.

o Collects, reviews and publishes project status with regard to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), stakeholder management, and features (the solution and its quality) that influence project performance and completion.

o Follows the principles of Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step, Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and the current Services methodology (MSDM) in project delivery

Qualifications:

o BA or Master's degree (MBA or equivalent is highly desirable)

o PMP (via PMI) certification required

o 10+ years of related experience

o Demonstrated capability in managing large, global, complex ERP projects

o Strong executive presence and demonstrated ability to build, extend and maintain senior client relationships

o Exceptional communication, team building and mentoring skills

o Demonstrated capability in developing professional talent

o Demonstrated ability to lead client and consulting teams

o Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer & Partner Relationships, Microsoft Product & Technology Expertise, Project Management, Strategic Insight

o Experience managing within the PMI methods and applying standard methodologies to achieve project results

o Expertise and proven ability in risk management and mitigation.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Project and knowledge and hands on experience in several of the following technologies: Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange / Lync, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft System Center

o Experience with Infrastructure, Application Development, Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Datacenter Relocation, and Clustering solutions.

o ITILv3 Foundations and MOFv4 Foundations certifications highly preferred; must obtain both within 120 days of hire.

This role requires US citizenship and a minimum DoD Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Overnight travel is required although primary workplace will be onsite / remote in the San Diego CA area. Travel requirements may vary and could be as much as 50% to include domestic and international travel. Candidates must possess current passport or be able to obtain passport within 90 days of hire.
