Travel the world, meet new and interesting people and engage them in building great Windows devices!

The OEM Global Consulting team is looking for a Windows fundamentals expert who can lead engagements with client OEMs, ODMs, Silicon Partners and Windows teams to help bring up new Windows devices. This position requires Windows development experience across multiple release cycles and a history of leading technical engagements with OEMs and IHVs. The ideal candidate has depth expertise in Windows internals, a breadth of Windows fundamentals understanding and has demonstrated leadership in driving Windows device solutions. This is an individual contributor role but you would be expected to lead virtual teams.

The Global Consulting team is part of OEM Engineering Services (OES) whose goal is to work with partners to help them build amazing and competitive Windows devices.

Job activities may include:

o Driving ODMs and OEMs with Tablet/SoC bring up and certification through hands on assistance.
o Leading ADK and HCK training, execution, troubleshooting and analysis.
o Representing Microsoft and OES in both engineering partner engagements with senior executives.
o Giving engineering presentations relating to Windows internals and devices.
o Developing OEM and ODM engagement strategy.

In general, candidates need to have:

o Multiple ship cycle of experience in a senior role in the Windows product group working on performance, devices, battery life, deployment, CPU/Chipsets or other OS fundamentals areas. (Or equivalent experience.)
o 5+ years of engineering experience required.
o Windows operating system development experience required.
o Expert level troubleshooting skills including the use of any of the following: kernel debugger, precision questioning, code analysis, Windows development kits and other tools.o Proven team, resource, and feature management and organizational skills.
o Passion for team health and peer development.
o Proactive communication skills and the ability to be an effective influencer.
o Proven capability as a public speaker and instructor.

This position will require up to 20% travel, with occasional periods of heavier travel. Destinations include China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and the US. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a plus, but not required.
