Position Description: Exchange Senior Consultant
Location: Columbia, MD

Exchange Senior Consultant for Joint Commands and Department of Defense Agencies
Candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality Exchange technical support for Microsoft Federal DoD customer. Candidate must have a Top Secret Clearance minimum or be able to be cleared within 3 - 6 Months.

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years' experience with Exchange (2003 - 2010) and Active Directory. Experience with Exchange 2010 is mandatory. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate and provide examples of experiences of success working in both a reactive and proactive technical mode. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to function and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Excellence in both writing and customer communication is a must.


The Senior Consultant applies advanced analysis skills (design patterns, UML, etc.) and experience in principals of software design and deployment to define appropriate customer solutions. To be credible he or she must have current and deep experience with implementation of large enterprise networked computing environments using, Active Directories, Exchange Messaging, and Office Communication Server (OCS) is a plus. Advanced domain knowledge in US Government, specifically in Department of Defense in particular is also an asset.

The Senior Consultant helps customer account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing projects. To accomplish this, Senior Consultants must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. They also play a key role in employing and developing partners as part of the overall Microsoft services delivery model. When asked, senior consultants help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW). In some cases Senior Consultants will also assist in contract negotiations.

The Senior Consultant must have proven experience managing projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management.

The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience combined with a minimum of 6 years relevant working experience including expertise in enterprise architecture as well as infrastructure deployment and/or distributed system implementation. Candidate must have a deep understanding of Messaging and Exchange 2003 - Exchange 2010. Industry certifications such as MCTS, MCITP, CISSP, CNA and others are a plus. Technology Experience: include hands-on experience in several of the following: Active Directory Services, Exchange Messaging, MOSS, SQL, Windows platform design.
