Sr. Business Planner

The Xbox team is working to deliver amazing entertainment experiences - from gaming to music, video and more available via Xbox consoles and other Microsoft devices. We deliver these experiences in a number of ways to consumers, including subscriptions like Xbox Live Gold.

As a Sr. business planner on the Xbox Subscriptions Business Planning team, you will be responsible for driving business performance insights to ensure we are on track to achieve business goals. In this role you will proactively identify and develop action plans for issues that impact our business goals and influence strategy decisions. You will identify data needs and areas of research to address business questions in close collaboration with marketing, business insights (BI) and engineering teams.

Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and apply a deep understanding of the Gold Subscription business and its drivers
Define and drive research and analyses to develop market and consumer insights in partnership with BI teams
Analyze and synthesize market insights pertaining to trends across user volume, revenue, competitive dynamics and consumer behavior
Develop quantitative models for business planning and optimization to support the rhythm of the business and forecasting
Conduct in-depth quantitative analysis of pricing, SKU and channel performance
Creating complex business impact models to assess new opportunities, market and customer dynamics
Develop, drive, analyze and synthesize primary quantitative research
Drive customer life time value analysis, ROI analysis for investments

This role requires strong business acumen, deep quantitative and analytical skills with an instinct for and appreciation of the importance of customer experience and subscription business dynamics.

4+ years of product management, strategic consulting or related work experience
Fluency with analytical frameworks, quantitative models, market sizing
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
Excellent executive presentation and business communication skills
Background in software & services delivery models preferred
Fluency in statistical and numerical analysis and methods preferred
Experience with subscriptions businesses strongly preferred
Passion for entertainment
MBA or advanced degree in Economics preferred
