The Worldwide Education team, based in Redmond, is looking for a high energy, experienced senior marketing manager to lead the worldwide education event strategy and execution. We need a senior events marketing manager that can think through a multi-year event strategy including budgeting and executing that strategy in an impactful and cost-effective manner and providing guidance for the field to support or replicate these (i.e. Event-in-a-box). The event marketing manager will also work closely with the marketing team, school leader and education audience team members and representatives from product teams to bring the right experiences to life at teacher and school leader events around the globe.

You will drive consistency, innovation and excellence in the event marketing discipline for the company through support of impactful, all-encompassing event marketing experiences, with a keen eye for in-person events' role in an overall integrated marketing plan across digital and high-touch channels. The events will be both Microsoft-led as well as integration with industry events and third-party sponsorships. We need a senior marketer who is excited to join forces with the teams across Microsoft to build and evolve the Education event marketing strategy that will engage these critical audiences with the goal of increasing awareness around the Microsoft technologies, driving positive perceptions and advocacy with key audiences.

Capabilities and scope
o Define our event strategy by education audiences including K-12 teachers, technical & business decision makers, school leaders, and education ministers across K-12 and HED
o Drive the details of event execution from inception to completion leveraging corporate event resources and aligned vendors
o Attention to detail in event planning, execution, and post-event reporting
o Create immersive experiences so educators and school leaders get hands-on experiences and strong calls to action at Microsoft events
o Identify key success marketing factors and measure event impact against those success factors
o Align event messaging priorities with education product and audience program content and messages
o Highlight the voice of the customers by integrating customer case studies, videos, and testimonials into events
o Integrate education partners into event content
o Continuously improve event efficiency and effectiveness
o Create replicable processes for the Field teams to emulate and leverage in their region
o Lead sponsorship programs that enable partners to support these key events that drive partner CPE

Role responsibilities
o Support the design of in-person proprietary and third-party events focusing on the audience experience and event objectives to drive business impact and maximize return
o Gain insight and understand of the audience and apply to event experience
o Collaborate with the audience program leads (school leader, student, educator leads) to understand how events align to customer journeys
o Project management including project budget management and negotiation, vendor sourcing and management, project plan management, prioritization, calendaring and communication, and issue escalation
o Define and refine event metrics and performance targets and connect to business results
o Utilize measurement and analytics to deliver event against expected business results and key performance targets
o Analyze event, industry and competitive data. Utilize meaningful and relevant data to improve effectiveness and efficient of events
o Event budget management

o Broader awareness of how events fits into an integrated marketing strategy
o Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are required
o Self-motivated and directed person, requiring minimal supervision for successful assignment completion
o Constant learner and ability to identify, share and apply insights for continual improvement
o Excellent marketing skills, strategy instincts, and business intuition

This role is based in Redmond, Washington and will involve international travel.
